About the Authour

As an 18 year old female teenager I feel as though I self-sabotage all the time. Some may say I’m an expert on it. If I’m not screwing myself over, you can bet my friend is screwing herself over and she’s telling me all about it. Being a Psychology student, I have a basic level of understanding about the human brain and why we behave the way we do. I’m interested in the ways in which we react to situations and the steps we take to respond to different scenarios. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I know what it’s like to purposely make the wrong choices in order to feel like I’m gaining control over a situation. As a teenager writing about issues that many teenagers face, I feel as though my voice and personal anecdotes will add value to explaining why we self-sabotage. For example, if my 85 year old grandfather wrote a feature story about self-sabotage, it would not be nearly the same story I’m writing.
